CanvasBTPrivacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026 · Effective: 01 July 2026. CanvasBT is a product of Inventors Tech Ltd (registered in the United Kingdom). This policy covers the CanvasBT app and the canvasbt.co.uk store. Store-specific sections (email signup, payments) are marked; please have the full policy reviewed before launch.
1. Introduction
CanvasBT ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your information. It is designed to comply with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Information we collect (app)
CanvasBT is built for data minimisation. The app does not collect personal identification information, location data, device identifiers, usage analytics or biometric data. It requests only the permissions needed to work: Bluetooth (to talk to your frame), and — if you use them — storage/gallery and camera access. All are handled locally on your device.
3. Data processing
All image processing happens locally on your device. Your photos never pass through our servers. If you use AI generation via OpenAI's DALL·E, you supply your own API key, which is stored only on your device.
4. Lawful basis
Where we process any personal data, we rely on legitimate interest (core functionality), consent (optional third-party features), and contractual necessity (the Bluetooth connection to your frame).
5. Third-party services
Optional features use Pexels and Pixabay (image search) and OpenAI (AI generation). Only the search query or prompt you enter is shared. We do not sell, rent or lease personal data.
6. Storage, retention & security
App data (image cache, settings, Bluetooth pairing) is stored locally and deleted when you clear it or uninstall. Bluetooth is direct and encrypted; API calls use HTTPS. No system is completely secure, so keep your device updated and locked.
7. Your rights (UK GDPR)
You have the right of access, erasure, rectification, restriction, portability and objection, and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making (we don't use it). To exercise these, contact us at info@inventorstech.io.
8. Children's privacy
The app collects no personal data from any user, so it can be used safely by all ages.
9. International transfers
Optional third-party services (OpenAI, Pexels, Pixabay) may process data outside the UK under their own safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses). You control whether to use them.
10. Cookies & tracking (app)
The app itself uses no cookies or tracking technologies.
11. Store & website (canvasbt.co.uk)
When you buy or sign up on our website we process the details needed to fulfil your order and, with your consent, to email you: name, email and delivery address. Payments are handled by Stripe (we never see full card details). Marketing email is handled by Brevo, only with your consent — unsubscribe any time. The website may use cookies for essential functions and, where you consent, analytics/advertising: the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics.
12. Changes
We may update this policy; we'll change the "last updated" date and, where required, ask for your consent.
