CanvasBT is built around privacy — the frame itself never connects to the internet. We apply the same thinking to your personal data: we collect as little as possible, and we're clear about what we do with it.
Who we are
CanvasBT is a brand of Inventors Tech Ltd, company no. 15369201, registered in England & Wales. Inventors Tech Ltd is the data controller for canvasbt.co.uk. For anything data-related, contact info@inventorstech.io.
What we collect, and why
Orders. Payments are handled by Stripe. When you buy a frame, Stripe collects your name, email, delivery address and payment details to process the transaction — we receive your order and delivery details so we can build and ship your frame, but we never see or store your card details. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
Delivery. We share your name and address with our courier solely to deliver your order. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is stored with our email provider, Brevo, and you confirm your subscription by double opt-in. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Lawful basis: consent.
Emails you send us. If you contact hello@canvasbt.co.uk we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to help you. Lawful basis: legitimate interest.
Analytics & advertising. With your consent (the cookie banner), we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, and the Meta Pixel to measure advertising. Neither runs unless you press Accept. Lawful basis: consent. See the Cookie Policy.
The CanvasBT app
The frame connects to the app by Bluetooth only and never to the internet. Your images are sent directly from your phone to your frame and are not uploaded to us. Optional app features (AI art generation, stock image libraries) use the internet to fetch the images you request.
How long we keep data
Order records are kept for 6 years, as required for tax and accounting. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained on Google's standard settings.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict our use of it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email info@inventorstech.io and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
